Data Specialties Phoenix Office Leads Data Center Design-Build Firm’s Presence at Healthcare Trade Shows in the Western Region

Data Specialties Inc. recently exhibited at the Healthcare Design Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.  DSI’s National Business Development Manager, Jeff McCartney, led the sales and marketing team as point of contact for the data center design-build firm that has an office in Phoenix, as well as St. Louis, and throughout California.

With the wave of big data and increased popularity and regulations on electronic medical records (EMR), hospitals and healthcare facilities are a growing sector for data center developers.  DSI’s Arizona office is positioned as a hub for the western region data center activity that has seen a boom over the last year within the healthcare information technology (HIT) sector.  As a result, HIT is an additional focus that DSI’s Arizona office will target. With the plethora of medical facilities in the region and the need for quality data center solutions, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Steve Borley,  feels positive about initiating an aggressive marketing presence in the HIT market for not only DSI’s Arizona office, but all DSI locations nationwide.

Along with DSI’s marketing team, McCartney plays an instrumental role in identifying DSI projects and clients within the Arizona and surrounding regions.  In the past year DSI’s Arizona office has finalized data center projects with corporations such as AAA, Cox Communications, Desert Diamond Casino, Dunn Edwards Paints, and Verizon.  The Phoenix location remains strong in its contributions of projected big business for the DSI pipeline in the year ahead.  To reach Jeff McCartney, please call (480) 921-8134 ext. 231.

Data Specialties Inc. (DSI) partners with AFCOM and 24/7 Exchange at a Kansas City Sustainable Data Center Golf Event

Always eager to get involved, Data Specialties Inc.’s St. Louis office participated in AFCOM/24X7 Exchange’s “Green Grid” 4th quarter meeting October 12, 2012 on the Sprint Campus in Kansas City, MO.   Launched in 2011, The Green Grid model integrates every aspect of the data center from power and cooling to more efficient computers, storage and networks.  Over 120 industry professionals met up to network, golf, and update their knowledge in the Green Grid methodology, which was developed to serve as a comprehensive model, providing clear goals and direction that map out what can and should be done over time to improve overall efficiency and sustainability throughout the data center industry. In addition to fun and friendly networking, rounds of golf, food and drinks, attendees were exposed to subject matter that focused on strategies, models and best practices for building and managing sustainable data centers for economic, social, and environmental benefits.

The DSI St. Louis team made great headway as a corporate “Hole Sponsor” and look forward to participating in more industry networking events that foster both networking and having a good time!

DSI at Data Center World Fall 2012 – Nashville, TN

The Sales & Marketing team at Data Specialties Inc. just returned from exhibiting at this week’s AFCOM Data Center World Fall 2012 Conference & Expo in Nashville, TN. While it was a smaller show than the same produced in the Spring, DCW brought out a fair share of data center industry heavy weights, as well as the little guys (up and coming SME’s), and even a handful of vendors and suppliers new to our close knit data center market. With its slightly extended expo hours and a more “down home” location in Tennessee, Data Center World turned out to be a year ending show with pretty good ROI potential.

DSI’s sales team, which included our newest team members from our recently opened St. Louis office, were consistently busy fielding questions and inquiries on our data center design-build services. With 2012 coming to a close, participation in industry trade shows will be tapering off until the cycle restarts in the new year, and we welcome the opportunity to get back out there and meet many more future and existing clients, vendors, and partners. Next stop….The Healthcare Design Conference in Phoenix, AZ….stay tuned!

Orange County, CA – August 27, 2012 – Data Specialties Inc. (DSI) has been providing nationwide data center design-build services for over 20 years from its headquarters in Orange County, California.  Due to the strong growth of company demand and the increase in data center activity in the eastern half of the country, DSI sought an anchored presence in the midland region to better serve its clients and existing projects in middle America.  Having existing office locations in Phoenix, Arizona, Sacramento and Orange County, California, St. Louis was an attractive central location due to DSI’s targeted expansion into the nearby regions of Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Ohio, Nebraska, and Georgia.

“With a home base that can serve and focus on the central part of the United States, we will be on track towards our projected growth of doubling the size of our market share and creating a truly national footprint over the next two years”, states Steve Borley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Data Specialties Inc.

In order to bring the same level of industry knowledge and expertise to the central part of the states, DSI has recruited a few of the industry’s top talent already rooted in the local area.  Jon Jonz, newly appointed Regional Manager for DSIs St. Louis office, has over 20 years of experience in the construction and data center services industry. Jonz’s most recent experience includes the organization and start-up of a data center consulting firm and he is active in numerous regional data center organizations, including AFCOM, in addition to being a founding member of the St. Louis Gateway Board of Directors. He regularly speaks at trade shows and corporate events across the country, and is a recognized expert in the areas of cooling and power efficiency. Jonz will be responsible for the general management and sales efforts of the St. Louis office.

Mike Balles is a 28-year veteran of the data center industry and the Technical Manager for DSI – St. Louis. He specializes in the planning and design of technical facilities as well as the design and construction of data centers, network switching facilities, call centers, cable television head-ends, cell sites, and healthcare facilities.  Balles’s career includes work as lead designer and project manager for several design, engineering, and data center design/build firms. He is also a member of a number of construction and data center service organizations.

Kevin Mattison is the Construction Manager for DSI’s St. Louis office.  For the past decade, Kevin has been managing construction of ground-up and renovation projects for mission critical facilities and has more than 30 years of hands on experience in the field.

With its new facility now open and fully staffed with local area data center professionals, DSI is ready and able to fulfill Midwest, as well as east coast, data center projects and inquiries.  With licensing in over 24 states, Data Specialties Inc. is officially standing strong as a nationwide data center design-build construction firm.
