Data Center Cooling

Data Center Cooling Data center electrical systems, as well as the computers and other equipment they supply, generate thousands of watts of heat. Using computational fluid dynamics, Data Specialties Inc. excels in pinpointing the sources and flow of heat within a data center and installing the mechanical systems necessary to keep the facility running within a safe, cost-effective and manageable temperature range. Data center cooling is critical for new designs and of the utmost importance in upgrading existing data centers.

Here are 3 questions our clients have about data center cooling and mechanical systems:

1. Does the existing mechanical systems offer optimal efficiency?
2. Should I look at hot aisle or cold aisle for my containment strategy?
3. How best to I approach modular design and build of my new mechanical system?

Data Specialties Inc. (DSI) partners with AFCOM and 24/7 Exchange at a Kansas City Sustainable Data Center Golf Event

Always eager to get involved, Data Specialties Inc.’s St. Louis office participated in AFCOM/24X7 Exchange’s “Green Grid” 4th quarter meeting October 12, 2012 on the Sprint Campus in Kansas City, MO.   Launched in 2011, The Green Grid model integrates every aspect of the data center from power and cooling to more efficient computers, storage and networks.  Over 120 industry professionals met up to network, golf, and update their knowledge in the Green Grid methodology, which was developed to serve as a comprehensive model, providing clear goals and direction that map out what can and should be done over time to improve overall efficiency and sustainability throughout the data center industry. In addition to fun and friendly networking, rounds of golf, food and drinks, attendees were exposed to subject matter that focused on strategies, models and best practices for building and managing sustainable data centers for economic, social, and environmental benefits.

The DSI St. Louis team made great headway as a corporate “Hole Sponsor” and look forward to participating in more industry networking events that foster both networking and having a good time!

DSI at Data Center World Fall 2012 – Nashville, TN

The Sales & Marketing team at Data Specialties Inc. just returned from exhibiting at this week’s AFCOM Data Center World Fall 2012 Conference & Expo in Nashville, TN. While it was a smaller show than the same produced in the Spring, DCW brought out a fair share of data center industry heavy weights, as well as the little guys (up and coming SME’s), and even a handful of vendors and suppliers new to our close knit data center market. With its slightly extended expo hours and a more “down home” location in Tennessee, Data Center World turned out to be a year ending show with pretty good ROI potential.

DSI’s sales team, which included our newest team members from our recently opened St. Louis office, were consistently busy fielding questions and inquiries on our data center design-build services. With 2012 coming to a close, participation in industry trade shows will be tapering off until the cycle restarts in the new year, and we welcome the opportunity to get back out there and meet many more future and existing clients, vendors, and partners. Next stop….The Healthcare Design Conference in Phoenix, AZ….stay tuned!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Data Center Design/Build Firm, Data Specialties Inc., enters 4th Quarter with Strong and Consistent Sales and Marketing Efforts that Proved Beneficial in 2012.

Orange County, CA – September 20, 2012 – Data Specialties Inc. (DSI) a nationwide data center design-build firm head quartered in Orange County, CA, heads into 4th quarter 2012 with strong and consistent sales numbers and a pipeline of high profile projects resulting from its aggressive marketing efforts. DSI, who earlier this year augmented its sales and marketing division with key personnel and marketing pros, has seen substantial gain in its national footprint and industry demand as a result of a highly focused marketing and public relations campaign. As a result, DSI’s local and national footprint continues to increase its presence in the regional and national data center market.

DSI will be exhibiting in Nashville, TN from September 30-October 2nd at the AFCOM Data Center World Fall 2012 Convention and at the Healthcare Design Conference in Phoenix, AZ on November 3-6th.  “We’ve had a busy year at the various shows”, says Steve Borley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, “but PR and marketing efforts can never slow down; they are one of the most important responsibilities of any company, and while at times intangible, the results (or lack thereof) are not.”  Data Specialties Inc. is already planning a full calendar of trade shows and revised sales and marketing objectives for the upcoming year and, President of Data Specialties Inc., Phil Rafferty, is happy to head into 2013 leading a strong and results focused team.
